In lesson 4-4 We have learned that in Japanese to indicate that an act in the past we use
「V + ました」

「Vました」does not just indicate that an act is in the past , it can also means that act is done.

When 「Vました」 means an act is done, it usually goes with 「もう」(already).

In affirmative sentence, you can use 「Vました」to indicate an act that happen in the past or an act that is done.However, you can not apply the same to the negative sentence.

In case an act is not done yet, we use 「まだ」( not yet ).

Q.昨日(きのう) ばんごはんを食(た)べましたか。
Yesterday, did you have dinner?
Yes, I did.
No, I did not.

Q.もう ばんごはんを食(た)べましたか。
Have you eaten already ?
→はい、もう 食(た)べました。
Yes, I have already eaten
No, not yet.
→いいえ、まだ 食(た)べていません。(みんなの日本語第31課)
No, I have not eaten yet.(Lesson 31 Minna no Nihongo text book)

1.田中(たなか)さん、 もう ごはんを 食(た)べましたか。
Hey Tanaka, have you eaten already?

 →はい、もう 食(た)べました。
Yes, I have already eaten.

2.もう 準備(じゅんび)をしましたか。
Have you prepared already/yet?

 →はい、もう しました。
Yes, I have prepared already

3.マリーさん、 もう 東京(とうきょう)へ行(い)きましたか。
Hey Marie, have you been to Tokyo yet?

No, not yet.

4.もう チケットを買(か)いましたか。
Have you bought the ticket yet?

No, not yet.
